Richard is the President & CEO of Carter P.C. working with the Audit, Accounting and Tax practices. He has 25 years of experience working with large multi-national public corporations, closely held corporations, not-for-profits entities and families & individuals. Prior to working for Carter P.C., Richard worked in the Audit practice for Ernst & Young, the Tax practice for Deloitte and served as a leader in the Private Wealth Services group for Grant Thornton. Additionally, he was the CFO/General Manager for a NASCAR Cup Series team and owner of a NASCAR Truck Series team.

Industry experience

Richard has provided assurance services, tax consulting and accounting advisory assistance to corporations for a number of industries with a focus on financial services organizations, manufacturing corporations, the retail industry and non-profit entities. He specializes in helping clients achieve their business goals by using his broad experience and by connecting the multi-disciplined services offered by Carter P.C. Richard also has significant experience working with CFOs, assisting them with risk and controls management, mergers & acquisitions, organizational structure and a wide range of tax services.

He also provides tax consulting to high net worth families and related closely-held entities to achieve their estate & succession planning, income tax planning and compliance planning requirements.
